Rafael I have answered some of your questions below. However I will need to connect up with you to actual see what you are experiencing. I will give you a call on Monday.
1. Is there a way to export a report (custom or created in a Query) into a selected drive. Right now it goes straight into the Workstation drive (Z drive for me). Other users that do not have access to the drive will not be able to retrieve their exported reports.
12/1/08 CLOSED
[Tony Trenga] There is an INI file named Abrawin.ini that can be used to set the export path.
Abra Suite provides the Abra initialization (ABRAWIN.INI) file to customize the Abra environment. This feature provides additional capabilities for using Abra Suite on Local Area Networks (LANs).
After installing Abra Suite, use the ABRAWIN.INI file to specify any directory for the following items: live data, sample data, registration file, temp file directory and export directory.
If using a LAN, it is possible to keep the Abra program (executable files) on a local PC for fast access and then obtain information from a common server. Populating the ABRAWIN.INI file, assigns the required paths to locate the information. If no additions exist, the system installation defaults apply.
The ABRAWIN.INI file must be located in the same directory as the ABRA32.EXE file. When Abra Suite is started, the system checks to see if the ABRAWIN.INI file is populated and attempts to verify and locate the specified directories.
The following lines in an ABRAWIN.INI file direct the system to run Abra Suite with the export and temp directory on the C drive and the data and sample data on the network drive, J:
data = j:\databases\abra\data\
sample = j:\databases\abra\sample\
export = c:\abrawin\export\
temp = c:\temp\
The ABRAWIN.INI file is not case sensitive and the order of the settings does not matter. All blanks are ignored and the backslash (\) at the end of each path name is optional. Enter any number of statements as required. If any additional information is entered that the system does not recognize, it is ignored by the system.
The following is a partial list of settings that can be defined within the ABRAWIN.INI file. (Most folders can be named)
Setting Description
data = Defines the path for live data.
sample = Defines the path for sample data.
export = Defines the path for any exported files.
temp = Defines the path for any temporary files created by the system.
Note:When using the ABRAWIN.INI file, back up the file before making changes.
2. The optional life for a spouse is not calculating on the benefits plan. I wanted to see if you could look into this or get with me on that to figure out why its not calculating like all the other optional life plans.
12/1/08 CLOSED
[Tony Trenga] I will most likely need to see the plan for this . However a couple of things that you can look at. Make sure that the rate table is correct in the order of age. I am assuming that since this is a life policy that it is based off of the spouses age. If this is true then you need to use AGESPOUSE() not AGE() to do the calculations. The spouse needs to be assigned to the employee as a dependent with spouse as the dependent type and the birth date field entered. This is not a required field in Abra but is needed for the benefit calculation. you also need to have the dependent assigned to the plan.
3. Is there a way to include the custom detail fields into a report? Please let me know how, since I do not see these fields as selectable when creating a Query.
CLOSED
12/1/08 Rafael getting some crystal rpt errors, will call Tony for assistance.
[Tony Trenga] The Custom fields are not available in the Query they are however available in Crystal reports. I have attached the toolkit manual it has information about creating reports from custom fields.
4. Is there a way to create security on some attachments. We would like to attach some documents that should only be viewed by a couple of users, but would like other users to be able to view other certain attachments. If not, any suggestions would be appreciated.
12/1/08 CLOSED
[Tony Trenga]No. Abra lets you can create security groups that will hide the attachments detail screen but not filter which attachments can be seen.
5. When "Optimizing the Database" and "Reformatting the Index" my custom detail fields disappear from the customizing menus....which makes me nervous. Please let me know the reason for this, if it is normal or get with me and I can show you what it's doing.
12/1/08 WAITING ON TONY
[Tony Trenga] This I will have to look at.
12/12/08 Tony will email SAGE ticket number to Rafael so he can connect with SAGE (they have requested to look at client system) |
